CLOS DE LA BARBANNE

BED AND BREAKFAST + BOUTIQUE WINERY

Clos de la Barbanne 2023 (6-Bottle Case)
Price

€186.00

The 2023 vintage conditions in Montagne developed a classic, fresh and elegant Right Bank expression, rather than an especially powerful one. After a cool, wet spring with unrelenting mildew pressure, a warmer, drier summer and ideal harvest conditions in mid-September helped produce a wine with ripe Merlot fruit, bright freshness, refined tannins and a clear expression of our clay terroirs. Aged for 18 months in a combination of large barrels and amphora, the wine is lively, balanced and approachable, with enough structure and depth to age gracefully.

All wines are sold in 6-bottle cases. Please note that a quantity of 1 in your basket corresponds to one case of 6 bottles.
Selected wines may also be available in large formats, including magnums (1.5L). For pricing and availability, please contact us at wine@closdelabarbanne.com.

Growing Conditions

The growing season began with a rather dry winter, but this was followed by an extremely rainy spring. Cool and wet conditions persisted until nearly July, but the weather improved and remained warm and dry throughout the rest of the growing season. The sector's clay soils played a crucial role in retaining moisture during the warmer conditions, ensuring the vines remained healthy enough to provide a great yield. Harvest took place under ideal conditions, allowing for the collection of grapes at peak maturity.
